Simm Watts GE100 in for a checkover and to get her going!
Back off showing 4 EL34 sockets massive transformers and a single 12AX7 PI
Chassis out and this cable carries all the mains and HT to the switches on the front.. not really what that cable was designed for..
Mmmm mains and ht going through this ribbon.. would not meet any of today’s safety standards..

Original power lead secured with a knot.. not good
Mmm this does not look good..
replaced with a short lenght of cable and a euro-connector much more sensible
cover over the preamp a pain.. you cannot get to the other side of the screws to hold then while you undo the nuts… arggg
Nice EQ design for the preamp!
Heft indicutor design! all sliders good!
Up and running on the bench and sounding good.. a little too much hum (old caps) and the bias range needs adjusting as the EL34s are running a little too hot.
HT caps a bit shot…
replaced with these larger capacitance smaller caps! same spec

These caps maybe could do with replacing in the near future (job was to get her going)
Tested out on the bench working well some residual hum but not too high a level
Back together and good to go! Simms Watts PA in to check over and get her going again.. Interesting mix of solid state and Tube technology.. take a look at the pics
