Intersting just take for screws out and fold back the chassis!Great designniceBack panel off to see the components..great german engineering inside this one!Mm this cap looks a bit shot.. on the reverb circuitReplaced! and all good! All going well and souding great real lush reverb and great Vibrato circuit really full sounding! Lovely Hohner Orgaphon in for s service and to fix a strange crackling breakup.. New mains socket needed and only real issue was one decoupling cap on the reverb circuit that was breaking down.. Great sounding amp with classic German engineering love the way the chassis opens up!
Hi Stewart, stumbled upon your site researching this rare amp, great to see such a detailed look at the world of amp repair! I have just taken my one apart – Orgaphon 41 MH I think? – and it turns out the same cap as well as one close by are leaking, whhich is why the reverb currently sounds like a wacky space echo effect of some kind! Can you recall what replacements you used for the blue ones? I also wanted to replace the power caps but they are a rare spec that I can’t seem to find and I don’t know what I would be safe using as replacements. Any advice from a seasoned pro such as yourself would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Laurie
I seem to remember it was a 25uF 25 Volt electrolytic capcitor available from any sources.. Maplin, Hotroxuk.. CPC or just rhough Ebay. The other caps I think are dual 32uF but cannot be sure. Also available from Hotroxuk.. but would need to look at them again to confirm. They could be triple caps which are not easily avaiable but an Engineer could easily modify the amp to take newer capacitors. If you could send it to me I could do the work 😉
